Cons

• Vision should be run with access to the internet at least once every 21 days
• Cannot be used to run Vision on a Virtual Machine on a Mac

Pros

• Install Vision on as many computers as you wish and simply insert the dongle into whichever computer you wish to use
• No need to periodically connect to the internet .
• Can be used to run Vision on a Virtual machine on a Mac

Cons

• Potential of physical damage when inserted and removed
• Can be lost and/or stolen
• Potential for environmental damage (e.g. dust, heat or cold)
• Need to keep required dongle software fully up to date by regular downloads (especially when Windows is updated)
• On some computers, ‘hibernating’ means the dongle has to be removed and re-inserted when the computer ‘wakes up’
• Possibility of the dongle no longer being supported by new versions of Microsoft Windows (e.g. Windows 10)
• When new books are purchased requires email of update code (delays while order and email processed) and code to be applied by user
